Trublue for climbing walls

Self-belay devices with magnetic braking specially designed for indoor climbing. Now with Catch-and-Hold.

trublue

TRUBLUE iQ+ is equipped with Catch-and-Hold technology that gives climbers the opportunity to rest, recover and easily continue with the route or try again.

It also allows you to climb, side by side, with your friends or family. Each their own route and being really close to each other.

This represents a radical change for climbing walls as it turns them not only into sports venues but also into places focused on socialization and interaction in real time, on the wall, simultaneously, in full action. For owners, that translates into more customers and a greater diversity of customer types.

TRUBLUE technology

When a participant's weight pulls the strap out of a Head Rush device, centrifugal force sends aluminum rotor arms spinning toward the magnetic field of stationary magnets inside the device. The movement of the aluminum past the magnets creates the eddy currents within the aluminum arms.

Eddy currents are circular electrical currents, so called because they flow like eddies in a river. The force of the eddy currents opposes the force of the magnets, therefore providing resistance and slowing the release of the device straps.

Our braking system is self-regulating, which means that it automatically adjusts based on the participant's weight. A heavier participant will pull on the leash at a faster rate, causing the rotor arms to move faster and further into the magnetic field to create a greater braking force. This allows customers with a wide range of weights to enjoy a similar and consistent experience with Head Rush devices.

The new functionality

Catch-and-Hold of TRUBLUE IQ+

Catch-and-Hold is activated and deactivated via two touch-sensitive on/off buttons.

This is how a climber uses Catch-and-Hold belay:

1. Before climbing, evaluate your harness. He makes sure he's double backed and ready to climb. He unhooks the safety gate strap and secures it in its safety loop. Pull down on some of the self-locking straps checking that the straps retract. He doesn't go up if the strap doesn't retract. Finally double check that the carabiner gate is locked.

2. Tap the TRUBLUE button near the starting holds to activate Catch-and-Hold belay. He will notice a flashing blue light. This means Catch-and-Hold mode is ready. If not activated, TRUBLUE iQ+ works as a normal auto-belay.

3. During your ascent, if you fall down, Catch-and-Hold will activate. Look down at the power button, and the light will be solid blue while you hold it, then it will begin to flash rapidly when the time is running out. The climbing center can program each auto-belay to hold the climber for 15, 20 or 30 seconds.

4. Continuing to climb at any time before the device is released will restart Catch-and-Hold mode. The climber can do this - fall, hang and resume climbing - an unlimited number of times as long as the hanging time does not exceed the preset time programmed by the climbing center. If he wishes to drop to the ground, simply wait for Catch-and-Hold to release.

5. Upon reaching the top of the route, drop the wall and the Catch-and-Hold will hold you in place until the timer runs out or press the touch-sensitive off button to drop down immediately.
